Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 9, 2026
Last updated: October 9, 2026

Cause of a Kind, LLC (“Cause of a Kind,” “COAK,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a software product development and creative web studio based in New York. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to causeofakind.com and its pages (the “Site”), our marketing and advertising, our email newsletters, our podcasts, and the conversations you have with us about working together.

It does not cover personal information we handle on behalf of our clients while building or operating their software. That information is governed by our agreements with those clients and by their own privacy policies.

Questions? Email us at [email protected].

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Contact and project inquiry forms. Your name, email address, company, project budget range, timeline, a description of what you are building, and the page you contacted us from.
  • Meeting bookings. Your name, email address, and any details you share when you book time with us through our scheduling links.
  • Advertising lead forms. When you submit a lead form inside a Facebook or Instagram ad, Meta shares the information you entered with us, such as your name, email address, phone number, company, and your answers to any questions in the form.
  • Newsletters. Your email address and, if provided, your name when you subscribe to one of our newsletters.
  • Calls, meetings, and podcast recordings. Your voice, image, the content of the conversation, and transcripts or notes created from it, when a call or podcast session is recorded (see Section 5).
  • Email and other correspondence. Anything you choose to send us directly.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, we and our advertising and analytics partners automatically collect information through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies. This can include your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, the pages you view, how long you stay, the links you click, approximate location derived from your IP address, and identifiers set in cookies. See Section 3 for details.

Information from other sources

We may receive business contact information about you from third parties, including sales intelligence and data enrichment providers (such as Apollo.io), professional networks (such as LinkedIn), advertising partners, event organizers, referral partners, and publicly available sources. We typically use this to complete or verify business contact details, such as your job title, company, company size, and industry, and to better understand whether we can help.

2. How we use your information

  • To respond to your inquiries, schedule and hold meetings, and provide proposals and services.
  • To manage our relationship with prospects and clients, including keeping records in our customer relationship management (CRM) system.
  • To send newsletters, updates, and marketing emails you have signed up for or that relate to a conversation we have had with you.
  • To produce, edit, and publish our podcasts and related content.
  • To measure how the Site and our advertising perform, and to show you relevant ads on other websites and platforms.
  • To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site, including detecting spam and abuse.
  • To comply with legal obligations, enforce our agreements, and protect our rights and the rights of others.

3. Cookies, pixels, and advertising

The Site uses the following third party technologies. Each provider may collect information about your visit and use it as described in its own privacy policy.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of interest based advertising from many companies through the Digital Advertising Alliance and the Network Advertising Initiative. Blocking cookies may affect how parts of the Site work. Some browsers send “Do Not Track” signals; because there is no common standard for how to respond to them, the Site does not currently respond to them.

4. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only as described here:

  • Service providers that help us run our business and process information on our behalf, including website hosting (Fly.io), form processing (Formspree), content management (Contentful), scheduling, email and productivity tools (Google Workspace), email marketing (Mailchimp), CRM and sales tools (such as Close and Apollo.io), meeting recording and transcription (Fireflies.ai), and podcast recording and production (Riverside).
  • Advertising and analytics partners such as Google, Meta, and LinkedIn, through the technologies described in Section 3. Under some state privacy laws, this may be considered “sharing” for cross context behavioral advertising or a “sale.” See Section 9 for how to opt out.
  • Podcast audiences. If you appear as a guest on one of our podcasts, the published episode, clips, and related promotion are shared publicly.
  • Legal and safety. When we believe disclosure is required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Cause of a Kind, our clients, or others.
  • Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our business, personal information may be transferred to the acquiring or successor organization.
  • With your consent or at your direction.

5. Call and podcast recordings

We may record and transcribe video calls and meetings, including sales and discovery calls, using tools such as Fireflies.ai, so we can keep accurate notes and follow up well. We will let you know at the start of a call when it is being recorded, and you are welcome to ask us not to record. Recordings and transcripts are for internal use and are not published.

Podcast sessions are recorded with tools such as Riverside for the purpose of publishing. Guests agree to be recorded and published before the session. If you are a guest and have questions about an episode, contact us at [email protected].

6. Email marketing

You can unsubscribe from our newsletters and marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any message or by emailing us. We may still send you non marketing messages related to an active project or inquiry.

7. How long we keep information

We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, such as maintaining a business relationship, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law. In general, we keep inquiry and CRM records for as long as there is an active or potential business relationship, keep newsletter data until you unsubscribe, and keep call recordings and transcripts only as long as they are useful for the related project or conversation. Published podcast episodes are kept indefinitely. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de identify it.

8. How we protect information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypted connections to the Site and access controls on the tools we use. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your choices and privacy rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop sending you marketing emails, by emailing [email protected]. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
